ABOUT CARINO
CARINO is an analog film studio dedicated to 16mm and Super 8 wedding films.
After years of documenting stories digitally through LOV Films, Pablo and Mari turned to analog motion picture film as a way to slow down, challenge themselves, and bring more intention to every moment captured.
They created CARINO because they felt real motion picture film deserved a dedicated space of its own within a sea of digital. A studio where every reel and every frame is valued, intentional, and crafted with care.
PABLO
Principal Analog Filmmaker, Editor & Colorist
Pablo leads the analog work behind CARINO, from camera preparation and film selection to shooting, editing, and final color.
His approach is natural, intentional, and mostly handheld, embracing the limits, imperfections, and tactile character of real motion picture film rather than trying to recreate a vintage look digitally.

Why Analog?
Film invites a slower, more intentional way of working. Every roll is limited, every exposure matters, and the images remain unseen until they are processed and scanned.
In a world shaped by immediacy and endless content, physical film is a reminder to value every frame.
For CARINO, that discipline is part of the beauty, preserving memories with texture, intention, and the quiet magic of real analog cinema.
THE 16MM CAMERAS
CARINO works with mechanical 16mm cameras from the 1950s and 60s, paired with vintage lenses sourced from around the world and carefully serviced for modern wedding work.
Fully mechanical and hand wound, these cameras offer no continuous recording or instant playback. Every roll has limits, every wind matters, and every frame asks for intention.
That physical process is part of what makes real 16mm feel so alive.
REAL FILM. REAL IMPERFECTIONS.
CARINO works with Kodak motion picture film in 16mm and Super 8, embracing mechanical cameras, limited rolls, and the unpredictability of analog filmmaking.
Grain, movement, flicker, and subtle imperfections are part of the process, not effects added later.
The result is tactile, imperfect, and deeply human.
HOW IT FEELS
CARINO is drawn to honest moments, natural movement, quiet details, and the beauty found in imperfection.
The approach is relaxed and intentional, allowing the day to unfold naturally while paying close attention to emotion, atmosphere, light, and the small moments in between.
The goal is not perfection, but something personal, tactile, and deeply felt. A film that feels lived in, not manufactured.
